How to Keep a Hoodie from Smelling Bad

A hoodie is a great way to keep warm, but it can often smell bad. This is because sweat and bacteria can build up in the fabric. If you don’t want your hoodie to smell bad, there are a few things you can do.

One thing you can do is design your own hoodie. This will help it to fit better and prevent it from stretching out. You can also buy a fabric softener that will help to keep it smelling good.

Another thing you can do is wash it regularly. Make sure to use detergent and bleach, and make sure to dry it completely. You can also put it in the freezer to kill any bacteria.

If your hoodie still smells bad after following these steps, consider buying a new one. Unfortunately, the design your own hoodie you design may not be very good for keeping it from smelling bad.

Cleaning Your Own Hoodie:

One of the reasons why your hoodie may smell is because it doesn’t fit well. A design my own hoodie will help to keep this from happening. You can design it so that it fits closer to your body and doesn’t give you too much fabric around the neckline, which can stretch out easily. When you design your own hoodie, also make sure that there are no loose strings or lose threads hanging off of it. This can cling to sweat and bacteria and cause unpleasant smells. If you don’t want to design your hoodie yourself, design your own t-shirts is another option.

Fabric Softener:

Another reason why you may want to design your own hoodie is because of the fabric softener it’s made with. Fabric softener can prevent sweat and bacteria from building up in the design my own hoodie, but only if it has a good smell. If you don’t like the smell that comes with the design my own hoodie or you don’t like the idea of using fabric softener on clothing, consider buying an unscented design my own hoodies. This is also available as design your own shirt.

Regular Washings:

If you’re worried that your design my own hoodie doesn’t get clean, don’t be. You can design your own hoodie to be machine-washable and tumble-dryable. All you need to do is make sure that the design my own hoodie is made with durable fabric. You should also use detergent and bleach when washing it, which will help to get rid of any bacteria or unpleasant smells.

The Freezer:

If all else fails, you can put your design personalize a hoodie in the freezer to kill any bacteria. This will help to prevent it from smelling bad, but it may not always work. Freezing your design my own hoodie may also cause it to lose its shape, so only do this if you really have to.

We do it because we love them, but after time even the well-made hoodie can smell funky. Whether you’re wearing your favorite sweatshirt to bed or just sitting around in general, perspiration and excess oils tend to accumulate on clothing over time. This doesn’t necessarily mean that the hoodie has worn out; some odor is expected with repeated wear. It simply means that rejuvenation is required before you hit the town.

When a simple airing out isn’t enough, try one of these techniques to keep a hoodie from smelling bad:

Method One – Baking Soda

What you’ll need:

  • A tray or container big enough for your hoodie
  • Two cups of baking soda (you can also use an old baby powder container)
  • Water, preferably distilled
Instructions:
  1. Lay your hoodie flat on the tray
  2. Mix two cups of baking soda with enough water to make a paste
  3. Spread the paste over your hoodie
  4. Allow it to dry overnight
  5. Shake off excess baking soda
  6. Wash as usual

Method Two – Absorb Odors Using Your Oven

What you’ll need:

  • A tray or casserole dish large enough for your hoodie
  • Some aluminum foil Cooking spray Instructions
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
  2. Cover the inside bottom of the casserole dish or tray with aluminum foil
  3. Coat aluminum foil with cooking spray
  4. Place garment in center and tightly seal with more foil (you may need to use more than one layer)
  5. Bake in oven for four hours; then turn off heat and leave overnight
  6. Remove garment from foil and air out before wearing again

Method Three – Vinegar Wash

What you’ll need:

  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Water
Instructions:
  1. Pour 1 cup of distilled white vinegar into a bucket or container large enough to submerge your hoodie
  2. Fill the container with water until the hoodie is fully submerged
  3. Soak for 24 hours; then rinse thoroughly
  4. Hang to dry Note: If you have a front-loading washer, you can also add 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar to the rinse cycle

Method Four – Use a Commercial Odor Eater

What you’ll need:

An odor eater such as Febreze or Ozium

Instructions:
  1. Follow the instructions on your chosen product to treat the garment
  2. Hang to dry
  3. Enjoy your fresh-smelling hoodie!

Conclusion:

There are many ways to keep a hoodie from smelling bad. My personal favorite is Method One using baking soda because it’s simple and doesn’t require any harsh chemicals. However, if you have a really bad odor issue, Method Three using vinegar may be more effective. Whichever method you choose, make sure to air out your hoodie washing it so that it doesn’t smell like vinegar or baking soda. Enjoy your fresh-smelling hoodie!
