Alliance to boost music users base for Apple

Bloomberg reported that the feature will be included in a way similar to Twitter is displayed on iPhones and iPads, which would not require the users to download it. Additionally, the feature could be enjoyed through the digital voice facility of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL).

Shazam has an impressive customer base of iPhone users as in March 2013 it reported having 20% of the iPhone customers and now it has around 90 million customers.  It pans out that the integration of Shazam in iPhone would also boost the music services customer base for Apple.

Prior to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) have integrated digital voice assistant in their smartphones. There is a music tool in Windows phone, which is similar to Shazam with Cortana voice assistant, and Google Now has also the same capacity.

All eyes on iOS 8

iTunes have been vital to Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and the company earns millions of dollars every year from the sales of songs and albums. The latest issue is that people are reluctant in spending money on music downloads instead listen to the streaming music on the web based services like Spotify and Pandora. Apple tried to gain the ground in the segment by launching its own video last year in iOS 7.

Couple of days back it was also reported that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is testing its music service as an independent app for the upcoming version of iOS. In the iOS 8 the iTunes Radio will be pre-installed and the display would be similar to one of the music apps. The users will be able to listen to the Featured Stations, can create and manage their own station and buy songs and albums from iTunes. Apple tried to release iTunes as a standalone app in iOS 6, but failed due to some technical hitch.

iOS 8 is expected to be released by the company in developers conference on June 2.
